Time your trip for Fashion Week (March/September) if you love fashion! Street style outside shows is incredible — Better than museum exhibitions.

Camp near Trocadéro during show times (2-4pm) to see editors, influencers, industry people dressed amazingly. Way more interesting than tourist crowds!

Follow @parisfashionweek for schedules. Shows are invitation-only but street style is free entertainment!

Hotels book up and prices spike but if you love fashion it's worth experiencing once. The whole city has electric energy!

Hotel afternoon teas at claridge's and the ritz charge £49-95 and frankly aren't worth the hype. Sketch on conduit street does afternoon tea from £58 but it's more about the pink room instagram shots.

Better value: the ivy chelsea garden from £33.95, or try the shard's hutong for £45 with actual views. Book weekend slots 2-3 weeks ahead for popular spots in kensington and chelsea.

For something different, explore dim sum afternoon tea at dumplings' legend in chinatown or persian tea at maison bab. Often more filling and interesting than standard cucumber sandwiches at tourist hotels.

After wandering through Gyeongdong Market's overwhelming ginseng aromas and traditional medicine chaos, ducking into Cha no Hana provides the most delightful respite. Their ceremonial matcha service (18,000 won) includes proper whisking demonstration and seasonal wagashi.

Located just 15 minutes walk from Jegi-dong station, this traditional tea house occupies a beautifully restored hanok with floor seating overlooking a zen garden. The matcha comes from Uji prefecture - such lovely quality compared to the chain coffee nonsense flooding Seoul.

Their afternoon tea set pairs organic Korean green teas with delicate rice cakes for 25,000 won. The sencha selection changes seasonally and the staff actually understands brewing temperatures unlike most cafes. Perfect transition from the sensory assault of medicinal markets to proper tea meditation.

Open daily except Mondays 10am-7pm. Reserve ahead for weekend traditional tea ceremony experiences - quite popular with locals seeking authentic moments between Seoul's relentless modernization.

Regent's Canal towpath from Little Venice to Limehouse is London's most scenic running route. Completely flat, traffic-free, passes Camden Market, King's Cross, Victoria Park. About 8 miles total but you can exit at any tube station.

Start at Warwick Avenue tube, head east. Stretch through Regent's Park is gorgeous, Camden Lock has water fountains, Olympic Park section feels rural despite being Zone 2. Early mornings best — Fewer cyclists and dog walkers. Path gets muddy after rain but mostly paved.

Historic restaurant above the Spice Bazaar entrance serving the same Ottoman recipes since 1901. Dining room has original tile walls, feels like eating in a palace.

They do dishes straight from Topkapi Palace kitchens - lamb cooked in paper, stuffed lamb shoulder, traditional rice pilafs. Everything prepared using historical techniques, not watered-down tourist versions.

300-500 TRY per person but it's a legitimate culinary time machine. Find the entrance stairs near the Spice Bazaar main gate. Reserve for dinner.
