Much more authentic than touristy heritage shows in city. Best November to February when cooler. Hollywood-style Hatta Sign makes for good photos but real draw is getting into actual mountains and away from city heat.

Masafi village Friday market is 90 mins from dubai but proper local market. Fresh produce, handmade carpets, pottery. No tourist prices.

The drive through hajar mountains is beautiful. Market 9am-2pm fridays only - this is the main weekly market day though some vendors sell other days. Bring cash, basic arabic helps with haggling.

About 90 minutes drive from Dubai, this is actual camel trading market not some heritage village performance. Spent a month in Al Ain and this place is the real deal. Bedouins bring camels for sale, mostly racing stock and breeding animals.

Best early morning around 6-7am when serious trading happens. You'll see beautiful animals and real negotiations. Be respectful — This is business for local people, not entertainment.

The eco-center explains how the falaj channels work. Shaded walking paths between the palms feel like another world. Drive via E11/E22 highways from Dubai, about 1.5 hours, or catch intercity buses to Al Ain city.

Visit early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat. Al Ain Palace Museum nearby if you want a full day. Bring plenty of water — 3-4km of trails total.

One of the world's most beautiful mosques, completely free to visit. About 90 minutes from Dubai and absolutely worth the trip. White marble glows at sunset, architecture is breathtaking.

Drive into the Hajar Mountains to this daily market where locals sell pottery, carpets, and fresh produce. Completely different vibe from Dubai's air-conditioned malls — Dusty, authentic, and full of traditional crafts.

Best buys are handwoven rugs starting 100 AED, traditional pottery, and fresh dates. The mountain drive itself is scenic and Masafi has natural springs if you want to extend the trip. Market operates daily from around 7am-11pm.

Bargaining expected but don't be aggressive about it. These are local families, not souk merchants.
