PDT still one of best cocktail bars despite being famous... Enter through phone booth inside Crif Dogs at 113 St Marks.

Text party size to their number for same-day reservations. Open 6pm, fill up fast especially weekends. Cocktails $16-18 but worth it.

Bacon-wrapped hot dog from Crif Dogs while waiting is mandatory. Tourist move but locals do it too.

Attaboy at 134 Eldridge doesn't have menu or sign... Tell bartender what flavors you like, they make something custom. Tiny — Maybe 20 people max — And cocktails are incredible.

Go before 8pm or after midnight to get in. Sweet spot around 7pm weeknights. Cocktails $16-18 but worth it. Not pretentious despite how this sounds... Bartenders genuinely cool.

F train to Delancey-Essex, walk south on Eldridge. Look for small door with no sign.

79-81 MacDougal St. Been around since 1915.

$16-18 cocktails but they're perfect. Old school NYC without trying too hard.

Hit it 5-7pm before dinner rush. Sit at the bar. The bartenders know their stuff.

The city transforms completely after sunset. Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village runs shows until 2am weekends — Arrive early or expect long waits. Live jazz at Smalls or 55 Bar if you want something atmospheric.

Night photography walks through Chinatown reveal a completely different energy. IFC Center does midnight screenings of cult films. Staten Island Ferry runs 24/7 with incredible skyline views and zero tourists after 10pm.

Koreatown stays alive until 4am. BCD Tofu House and Gammeeok serve full Korean BBQ past midnight. More interesting than another $18 cocktail.

LES is solid too but East Village has like 50 bars in a 4-block radius. Speakeasies, rooftop spots, dives with $5 beer. Go on a Tuesday or Wednesday and everything's way less packed.

Koreatown (32nd Street between 5th and Broadway) transforms after midnight with late-night Korean BBQ and karaoke. Many spots stay open late or all night — Check current hours for places like BCD Tofu House and Woorijip for post-bar meals or defeating jet lag with proper food.

Late-night slice spots like Joe's Pizza in various locations keep extended weekend hours. Gray's Papaya locations maintain the classic New York late-night tradition — Check individual locations for current hours.

Most neighborhood bodegas operate around the clock for essentials and late-night snacks. The city's nocturnal food scene actually lives up to the 'never sleeps' reputation.
