West Indian Day Parade on Eastern Parkway happens Labor Day Monday and it's HUGE! Over a million people celebrating Caribbean culture with amazing food, music, and costumes!
The main parade starts around 9am near Brooklyn Museum, working west along Eastern Parkway, but the real cultural immersion begins with J'ouvert at 4am - a wild pre-dawn street party with paint and powder. Food vendors are incredible throughout — Jerk chicken, doubles, roti, fresh coconut water. Bring cash!
Take 2/3 to Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum. Gets crowded but energy is infectious. One of NYC's best cultural experiences most tourists miss!
