Also a rotating cast of traditional Thai musicians and some surprisingly good indie acts. Performances are informal but the talent level is high. Tip what you can - these guys are pros, not just buskers. The acoustics under the pier overhang actually work really well.

Rca has clubs until 4am weekends. Safer than khao san, less scammy. Mostly locals and expats, proper security.

Huai khwang night market runs until 3am. Better food than tourist markets with actual late night energy. Mrt to huai khwang, short taxi ride.
