Everyone goes to see the Big Buddha but most people miss the monastery's vegetarian buffet which is honestly incredible value. It's only HK$30 for a full meal with like 8-10 dishes including mock meat that tastes better than the real thing.

The buffet runs from 11:30am-5pm daily and it's right next to the Buddha statue so you can combine both. Way better than the overpriced tourist restaurants in Ngong Ping Village. Just follow the signs inside Po Lin Monastery itself.
