Paris after midnight has completely different energy once the Métro stops
The city transforms once Métro stops running around 1:15am on weekends. Suddenly you're walking through empty cobblestone streets in Marais that feel like movie sets, with just sound of your footsteps echoing around Place des Vosges.
Night buses (Noctilien) run all night and surprisingly reliable. The N01 and N02 lines cover most tourist areas from République to Saint-Germain. Late-night bakeries in Belleville start preparing for morning around 3am - you can sometimes catch smell of fresh bread drifting through 20th arrondissement streets.
Some 24-hour spots worth knowing: L'As du Fallafel in Marais stays open late, there's 24-hour laundromat café in 11th near République that's weirdly cozy, and Sacré-Cœur looks incredible lit up against night sky with almost nobody around Montmartre.
