Best Asian food outside the obvious 13th arrondissement spots
Everyone knows about Avenue de Choisy for Asian food, but these scattered places are worth the metro ride:
Higuma (1st arr.): proper ramen €8-12, always busy with Japanese customers which is the real test. Near Louvre so easy to combine with sightseeing. 🍜
East Mamma (10th arr.): Vietnamese banh mi and pho, family-run, €6-9 meals.
Aki (6th arr.): tiny Japanese place, incredible katsu curry €14, only 8 seats so go early.
The Korean spots in Belleville (20th) are getting really good too — Kim Lien for Korean fried chicken, Soju Bar for proper banchan. Much cheaper than tourist-heavy areas and more authentic because they're serving the local Korean community.
Avoid Asian food in 1st-8th arr. Unless it's specifically recommended — Usually overpriced fusion targeting tourists.
