Most tourists don't realize Line 6 runs above ground between Bir-Hakeim and Dupleix, giving you perfect Eiffel Tower views from the train. Also above ground crossing the Seine at Pont de Bir-Hakeim.

The stretch between Pasteur and Montparnasse shows you rooftops and courtyards you'd never see otherwise. Sit on the right side heading towards Nation for Eiffel Tower views, left side for Sacré-Cœur views near Trocadéro.

Line 1 also goes above ground briefly between Bastille and Nation. Free sightseeing with your metro ticket.
