Being broke taught me where locals actually eat cheap. Mixed rice stalls around pasar seni - rm3.50 for rice plus 3 dishes if you avoid meat. Banana leaf restaurants lunch sets rm5-7, unlimited rice refills.

Chinatown back alleys have noodle stalls rm4-5 per bowl. Wet markets have fruit vendors selling perfect mangoes rm1 each. 7-eleven hot meals surprisingly decent rm6-8.

Download fave app - always got rm5 off coupons. Mamak stalls roti canai rm1.20, teh tarik rm1.80. Surviving kl on student budget totally possible.

Show student ID at select outlets in Sunway Putra Mall for real discounts. Burger King offers up to 30% off with RHB MySiswa card, making their meals much more affordable.

While many stalls don't offer student pricing, the few that do make it worth checking. Economy rice stalls and noodle shops sometimes give informal discounts if you ask nicely with student ID.

Food court is less crowded than other malls and actually decent quality. Free wifi and AC make it good for laptop work too.
