Everyone photographs Galata Tower but the light makes all the difference. Best shots are from across the Golden Horn around 5:30-6:30pm when the setting sun hits the stone just right.

Walk to Eminönü waterfront for the classic angle, or take the ferry partway for water-level shots. Avoid midday harsh shadows and early morning backlighting.
