Temple Street Night Market after 9pm — for introverts who want the full cultural experience without chaos
While Temple Street's incredible street food and fortune tellers are the main draw (as they should be!), the overwhelming crowds before 8pm with tour groups can make it hard to actually enjoy the cultural experience if you're sensitive to chaos.
I started going after 9pm when the dinner rush thins out and you can actually appreciate the fortune tellers' performances, listen to the Cantonese opera singers, and browse the food stalls without being pushed around. The authentic cultural elements are still there — Maybe even more visible when you're not fighting crowds.
Better prices too because vendors want to make final sales before closing around 11pm. Much more manageable for introverts or anyone who finds busy markets stressful but still wants the full Temple Street experience.
