Prague's only 2 hours from decent skiing at Špindlerův Mlýn. Not Alps powder but solid enough for a day trip and you'll save hundreds compared to Austrian prices. Direct buses from Praha hl.n. Every hour.

Lift tickets around 800 CZK versus 60+ euros in Austria. Gear rental is basic but functional. Best runs off the Medvědín chairlift - way less crowded than main face.

Weather changes fast in mountains so layer up. Aprés scene actually stays open past 4 PM unlike most Czech resorts which is a nice surprise.
