Koh Samae San (Koh Samaesarn) offers the most accessible premium snorkeling around Pattaya if you're willing to pay for convenience. Requires 45-minute car ride to Samaesan pier then speedboat, but the water clarity is unreal — 15-20m visibility on good days versus 3-5m at budget options like Koh Larn.

Join a group tour for around 2,600 THB or book a private speedboat starting from 11,000-15,000 THB (splits well with larger groups). Best coral is on the northwest side at 3-8m depth — Perfect for beginners. Nemo Island section has actual clownfish colonies that aren't scared of snorkelers.

Bring your own mask if you have one. Rental gear is basic and the boat operators rush you. Current can be strong so stay close to the boat. October to March has the calmest seas and best visibility. While Koh Samet offers excellent value for longer trips, Samae San delivers premium snorkeling without the multi-hour journey.
