NYC accessibility beyond the subway — museums that actually work

Museum of Natural History has excellent accessibility infrastructure - multiple elevators, wheelchair-accessible restrooms on every floor, and comprehensive audio guides for vision impairments. The planetarium shows provide assisted listening devices upon request.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is completely accessible with paved pathways and accessible facilities throughout. Much better option than attempting the Brooklyn Bridge walkway which requires navigating stairs at both entrances.

Staten Island Ferry is fully wheelchair accessible with smooth boarding procedures. It's genuinely one of the few major tourist activities that works seamlessly for mobility device users. The 9/11 Memorial also maintains full accessibility with timed entry preventing overcrowding issues.
