Most museums close at 5pm which is terrible if you need several coffees to become human. But MoMA stays open until 8pm fridays and the met museum until 9pm friday and saturday

Take the f train to 57th street for moma or the 4/5/6 to 86th street for the met. Evening museum visits are seriously underrated in this city - you can actually see van gogh's starry night without fighting tour groups and screaming children from new jersey

Natural history museum also stays open until 8:45pm fridays. Way less crowded after 6pm and the planetarium shows are magical when you're not surrounded by chaos
