Every guide tells you visit Batu Caves but nobody mentions absolute zoo from 9am onwards. Tour buses dump hundreds people, steps become sweaty human traffic jam.

Go 6am when first KTM Komuter arrives. Place mostly yourself, monkeys calmer, can actually take photos without someone's selfie stick every shot. Plus climb bearable before sun turns you soup. If you're looking for a consistently peaceful temple experience without timing restrictions, other temples offer that, but Batu Caves at sunrise is magical.

Train from KL Sentral 30 minutes, costs RM2. Don't drive unless enjoy circling parking hour.
