The Dubai International Financial Centre has interesting contemporary architecture but those paid walking tours are overpriced nonsense. Just walk around yourself.

The Gate building's arch design and various tower geometries create interesting shadow patterns. Use the elevated pedestrian bridges for different perspectives without paying some guide 200 AED to tell you what you can see.

Best light around 4pm for photography between the buildings. The Ritz Carlton building has interesting facade work that most people miss.
